Company Profile

China Southern Power Grid Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as CSG) was established on December 29th, 2002 as a result of one of ’s power sector deregulatory reforms. As one of two state-owned power grid companies in China, CSG invests, constructs and operates the power networks in Guangdong, Guangxi, Yunnan, Guizhou and Hainan provinces and regions where 230 million people, living on 1 million square kilometers of land, benefit from its power supply services.

In 2007, CSG sold 460 TWh of electricity, the West-East electricity network reached 86 TWh, company revenues (major business) reached 259 billion RMB and its total assets amounted to 326 billion RMB. Presently, CSG ranks the 237th among the Fortune Top 500 Corporations and 7th on the Top 500 list.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

CSG has 125 GW of installed capacity, 59,460 kilometers of transmission lines with capacity above 220kV, and 22216KVA of transformation capacity. Featuring long-distance, large capacity, ultra-high voltage and hybrid operations of AC and DC, CSG is one of the most complicated, integrated and advanced power grids in the world. With the existing six AC lines and four DC lines transmitting power from West China to East China, the current total transmission capacity exceeds 15GW.
