HKEx chairman Ronald Arculli
Hong Kong Exchanges & Clearing (HKEx) has appointed a consortium of consultants to explore the feasibility of trading commodity derivatives and emissions-related products in Hong Kong.

Mallesons Stephen Jaques (with subconsultants Climate Focus BV and International Environmental Trading Group) is appointed to study the trading of emissions-related products.

McKinsey & Company is appointed to conduct a study on the trading of commodities derivatives, including energy (such as oil, power and gas), base metals, and agricultural products.

HKEx announced on 22 February 2007 the release of its Request for Proposals from persons interested in conducting the Study. Interested candidates were short-listed by a tender evaluation team to present their proposals to a Selection Committee authorised by the Board to select and appoint the appropriate consultants.

The consultants are expected to complete their work in about four months.

Your view
Which of these companies deserve a place in a "green" or "climate change" mutual fund?
