Huadian will nearly halve SO2 emissions by 2010 |

TIANJIN, May 29 -- At the launching ceremony of its desulphurisation projects for coal-fired power plant, China Huadian Corporation (CHD) today announced it would cut its SO2 emissions by 44.9% of its 2005 levels by 2010.
China's Vice Premier Zeng Peiyan attended the ceremony to announce the formal launching of the projects. CHD president He Gong signed the letter of responsibility regarding SO2 emission reduction target with Zhou Shengxian, Director of State Environmental Protection Administration, committing that CHD would cut its SO2 emission by 44.9% of that of 2005 by the end of 2010.
At the same time Zhou signed a letter of responsibility regarding SO2 emission reduction targets with representatives of seven provincial governments (Shanxi, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shandong, Henan, Guangdong, Guizhou) as well as with State Grid Corporation, China Huaneng Corporation, China Datang Corporation, China Guodian Corporation and China Power Investment Corporation.
